Trey Selman Bio

RV Weighing and Tire Safety Specialist for RV Safety & Education Foundation since 2013. Trey and his wife Susan are full time RVers, who have been living and working on the road since 2011. They enjoy helping RVers understand weight and tire issues so they can travel safely. In addition to teaching about weight and tire safety, they help develop and produce video training for the foundation. Trey also serves the foundation as an information technician.

Thursday January 24, 2019

1:00 pm - *RV Weight and Tire Safety -  This seminar is designed to provide attendees the knowledge required to operate their RV within all safety limitations established by the manufacturer as well as what the information on the weight label means. It will provide information on the importance & benefit of 4 corner weighing. The information is designed to assist owners in managing their RVs weight as well as purchasing the correct RV to match their personal needs. Also understanding the capabilities and limitations of tires will be discussed.

3:00pm - *Caring for the RV System By System – Mechanical, electrical, fresh water and waste water systems that are on our RV. To keep your RV safe and operating properly, there are some important maintenance items we need to check each time we travel and some we need to check yearly.

5:00pm - *Properly Matching Trucks & Trailers/5th Wheels – This seminar is designed to give consumers a better understanding of the language used by both truck and trailer manufacturers. Consumers will have a better understanding of truck ratings, trailer ratings, and how to match the proper truck to trailer while staying within ratings, for the safest possible travel, and most enjoyment from the RVing experience. Learning about the different variables that can affect you towing ability will also be discussed. Ever heard “Yeah, it’ll pull it”, we all have, only to find out it would not TOW it. There is a big difference between pulling and towing a trailer or 5th wheel. (Free Seminar also available on rvsafety.com)

1:00pm - *Properly Matching Trucks & Trailers/5th Wheels – This seminar is designed to give consumers a better understanding of the language used by both truck and trailer manufacturers. Consumers will have a better understanding of truck ratings, trailer ratings, and how to match the proper truck to trailer while staying within ratings, for the safest possible travel, and most enjoyment from the RVing experience. Learning about the different variables that can affect you towing ability will also be discussed. Ever heard “Yeah, it’ll pull it”, we all have, only to find out it would not TOW it. 3:00pm - *RV Driving & Towing Tips – What Every RV Driver Needs to know – This class focuses on Pre-trip vehicle inspection, mirror adjustment, basic RV operation, maintaining space, intersections and turns, blind spots, braking, road signs and what they mean.  We mainly focus on knowing your vehicle and knowing your abilities.  (RVSEF also offers an online Driving Program which may qualify for Insurance discounts, as well as a 3 hour “Behind the Wheel” Driving Program) Our RV Safety Driving Program is now available on line at RVSafety.com.
